I was visiting with my daughter-in-law, and she told me how she likes going to garage sales. They have two children and one on the way. My other daughter-in-law also like them – maybe more because they have six children and one on the way.
Garage sales are great places to find bargains. If you attend, you know the stuff people throw away can actually be valuable, or at least useful, and it costs very little. In fantasy football, there is a garage sale every week on the waiver wire.
I picked up Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch off the waiver wire this morning. Both are in my starting lineup this week. Don’t get me wrong. I can be wrong about talent, but I think that both of these players will contribute to my team.
Speaking of a contribution, my most recent trade was finalized this morning. I didn’t mention it earlier in the week – even after it was accepted – because it had to be approved by my league. If a majority of the GMs vote against it, it’s cancelled.
I now have DeAndre Hopkins on my team, and I’m thrilled. I traded Carlos Hyde, who was coming off a huge game, to a team that desperately needed a running back but had plenty of wide receivers. This trade might be a win-win. Who knows?
As you can tell, I’ve been been very active this season, and we’re only in the fourth week. I’ve made six trades and 16 acquisitions off the waiver wire. It’s time now to settle down and see how this current cast of characters performs in the next few games.
