Adapt, change keys to success

Three weeks are in the book in the 2018 NFL and fantasy football season. At this point, you’re either 3-0, 2-1, 1-2, or 0-3. If you haven’t won a game yet, don’t despair. I was 0-4 last year and still won the league championship.

Yesterday, I told you about the importance of being able to adapt and change as the season unfolds. “The measure of intelligence is the ability to change,” said Albert Einstein. I understand he was a pretty smart guy.

To adapt and change in fantasy football looks like this. Your star player is lost for the season, so you find a replacement. You trade, or you find a prize on the waiver wire. The latter option is less costly because you drop your worst player.

I have three waiver claims in this week, and I will find out who I will get. I told you yesterday that I traded my kicker for Larry Fitzgerald. I’m buying low on this future NFL Hall of Famer. His stock has never been lower than it is right now.

So, one claim is for a kicker. I expect to be able to obtain Matt Prater of Detroit, who has scored 24 points in the past two weeks. Is he the best kicker in the NFL? Hardly. But in my opinion, he’s the best available kicker on the waiver wire.

I’m not going to tell you who my other two claims are for because I don’t know who might be reading this blog. Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you. I will tell you all about it tomorrow in my next edition.
