I have stressed the importance of checking the waiver wire every day. Perhaps, the most important day is Wednesday. This is the day when you will see the players that were waived on Tuesday by other general managers in your league.
Today, I was surprised to find Allen Robinson had been waived by one of the GMs. Robinson went in the fourth round of most drafts and is a highly-regarded wide receiver. I put in a claim for him. Chris Hogan was also waived Tuesday.
On Tuesday, I had also put in a claim for Giovani Bernard, who’s stock rose when running back Joe Mixon went down with an injury. I didn’t get Bernard, but he would have likely only been a short-term addition to my team anyway.
The players I was able to add today included Sammy Watkins, who had 19.1 points last week with the Chiefs. He caught six balls for a total of 100 yards. I also claimed Aaron Jones, who is returning to Green Bay after a two-game suspension.
The last piece I added was Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay, who came out of nowhere to be the third-leading running back in the NFL after two games. His situation reminds me of Alvin Kamara’s in New Orleans last year at this time.
